Discretionary Support Funds (DSF)
Discretionary Support Funds are available in colleges to help with learning costs. The funds are prioritised for those who face financial hardship. They can be used to help with:
- Financial hardship and emergencies
- Childcare costs (for Ofsted-registered childcare)(20+ only)
- Essential course-related equipment, materials and field trips
- Travel costs (19+ only)
To be eligible to apply, you must:
- Be 16 or over
- Have been accepted onto and studying a programme of learning funded by the LYPLA or Skills Funding Agency.
Application forms will be released as soon as we have received the details for the 2011/12 academic yer. We expect this to be in July. Applications are means tested and terms and conditions apply.
